I’m not usually a huge video game fanatic. I mean I’ve
always played games since I can remember, but never like some people. There
were just only a handful of games that peaked my interest over time. A lot of
times something will sound really good, but then I just get bored of it really fast. But
surprisingly there are actually nine new titles coming out soon that I’m really
looking forward to! Keep in mind these are ones I personally am looking forward
to, they probably aren’t as popular of an opinion. You won’t find Call of
Duty or Madden on my list, but take a look anyway.
Note; Release dates are most likely subject to change on
many of these
9. Batman: Return to Arkham
Release Date-10/18/16
Although
these technically aren’t a new games, I’m still looking forward to their PS4
release. If you’ve never played the Batman games you are really missing out.
They are some of the best games I’ve ever played. Not only do you get to kick
butt as Batman but you also get to do some detective work and use all of his
gadgets. One of my Favorite games for PS4 is the newest one Batman: Arkham
Knight. But the first two, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City is where it all began,
and I’d like to purchase them for my PS4.(The date at the end of the trailer is wrong)
8. Agony
Release Date-2017
This is
a new title set to release in 2017. I actually just found out about this one.
The premise is you are a lost soul trapped in Hell, and you have to find a way
out basically. It’s definitely a horror genre game, and looks to be super
creepy. I’m not sure what to think of it just yet. But it has my interest. The
trailer boasts to be the scariest game ever, but eh I’m not so sure, take a
look for yourself.
7. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter
Release Date-12/31/16
Ah one
of my favorite games as a child growing up is coming onto the new consoles;
Kingdom Hearts. I use to love the first two for PlayStation 2. But then they
really confused everybody by making so many sequels, prequels, and spin off
games on all sorts of gaming devices like Nintendo DS and PSP. But not for the
main console, so honestly this would be higher on my list but I’m confused
exactly where in story these ones fall. I have read it takes place before
Kingdom Hearts 3, and that's one release I’m super pumped for! This one is actually two former games being re- released onto the PS4, Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. If you don’t
know Kingdom Hearts, it is a series that combines the Final Fantasy games with
classic Disney movies and characters. You travel from world to world (or movie
to movie) as the key blade master saving them from the baddies, as Donald and
Goofy fight side by side with you. It’s a lot of fun!
6. Tekken 7
Release Date-3/31/17
Here we
come to a close to one of the greatest fighting games of all time. They have announced this is the final Tekken
to come. I have literally been playing the Tekken series since PS1, and since
before I even started school. It’s awesome they have kept going with it. I
would have the entire series still if I never had a house fire, years ago. I’m
looking forward to the final installment, and I can’t wait to play with my
favorite character; Hwoarang.
5. God of War
Release Date- 12/26/17
You
read that right! God of War is making a return, and this time I’ll be getting
it on the PS4. I’m slightly confused because the last one; Ascension was a
prequel. But the third God of War game, didn’t Kratos literally end everything
basically? The description to this one says Kratos is living with his son,
after all of the feuds he has had with the gods, and he has moved into Norse
mythology lands. This means new gods, new monsters, and new threats though!
Every God of War game has delivered so far for me, always great game play, and
fun ways to kill your enemies.
4. Spider-Man
Release Date-12/26/17
Finally
a new Marvel game that isn’t Legos! I have been disappointed with Marvel’s
games as of late, since we’ve hardly gotten any. I remember playing the fun
Spider-man games growing up, the Ultimate Alliance games, and the Marvel Nemesis
game. But lately they haven’t been putting as much work into their games as
they have their movies. But this one should prove to be awesome. A new
Spider-man game coming to PS4, with the same capabilities as the old ones. You
can swing around the city and as you can see in the trailer the graphics will be top notch. It's a good
idea to come out with this game the same year the movie will be hitting theaters. Coincidence? I think not.
3. Friday The 13th
Release Date- October 2016
I am a
big fan of Jason Voorhees, so I am really anticipating this one. You can either
play with Jason or as a camp counselor, obviously I’d much rather be Jason and
do the killing. But my biggest concern is after walking the maps and killing
people for so long, will it get boring to quick? I mean I’m not quite sure how
much of a storyline we are getting. I have seen different versions of Jason,
just like he is in the films. He changes over time, but either way I’m still
ready to dawn the hockey mask myself and become Jason!
2. WWE 2K17
Release Date- 10/11/16
The
only game on the list I can confidently say the release date is 100%
correct. I know this because I have it
on pre-order, and with that I get Bill Goldberg! You can also pre-order the NXT
package and get a few extra NXT stars. But that one’s like $100, and way too
much for me to spend on a game. That’s one thing I can’t stand about any games
now, is after you already blow $60 on the game, you need to spend extra money
for any additional downloads. What happened to doing challenges to unlock
stuff? You now have to have some money in order to be a gamer. Any who although
I think it will stink that this game will already be outdated, because we have
brand splits now and new belts in real life, and that won’t be on the game, I
still think it’ll be fun. I have gotten the new WWE game every year for the
past like 15 or 16 years. Except for 2014, I missed that year brand new. But
every year it’s a new experience.
1. Injustice 2
Release Date-2017
My most anticipated game has to be the much
anticipated Injustice 2. I surprised myself by really loving the first one. I
loved how it was a fighting game, but it also had a great story line to it. Plus
it switched between different characters, and you weren’t stuck with the same
one the whole story line. I also love how each character had a unique fighting
style, some easier to play with than others. I can’t wait for the new one
because there’s going to be new characters, like Gorilla Grodd! I can say one
thing for DC, although they have movie troubles, they make some amazing games.
Well you've seen my list, what games are you excited about!? Anything on this list you too are looking forward to?
